about
New Single Getting Better - an indie rock anthem in waiting, emanating upbeat and feel-good essence, written in a Glasgow tenement, Lewis was compelling himself to think of a more positive future from within the depths of a dark winter.
Inspired by the inner turmoil that simmers beneath a seemingly serene exterior, McLaughlin's lyrics explore the intricate bond we forge with ourselves. The initial idea was an introspective intimate acoustic ballad before the track evolved to become a full fledged celebration of change and growth, full of hope and ready to embrace whatever's ahead.
lyrics
Never could quite see my path
Now I know that no one sees it
When we’re snowed in
So much love in there
Never could take off my mask
There’s a comfort in the making
When it’s broken
There’s a load behind
Can you see it now?
Staring back at you
Take another look
Can you see it now?
Hold me when I’m feeling alright
Hopeless for the love of you
Come and see me
You can free me
Basking in the hopeful moonlight
Asking if you’d show me how
To be careless
I’m so scared of this
Can you see it now?
On a wall of glass
There’s a little crack
Can you see it now?
I’ll be, I’ll be, I’ll be getting better
I’ll be, I’ll be, I’ll be getting better
I’ll be, I’ll be, I’ll be getting better
Getting better
Getting better
Getting better
